CV
I was born in India, and raised in India and England. I came to Belfast in 1969 and have lived, worked and raised a family here. My Northern Irish husband refused to leave so I became an immigrant. My work explores issues of immigration, identity and racism through portrait photography and text. The subject matter has had great significance to me and others in my community. Exploring my own experiences of racism in this country through the lens led to a series of environmental portraits that have been exhibited in a solo exhibitions that acknowledge systemic racism taking place throughout Northern Ireland. I continue to explore the subject expanding to include diverse cultural activities that happen in home and work life.
